The Father of the Bride.
Why I Love this wedding photo.
This reportage wedding photo captures the moment a proud father of the bride greets his daughter as she arrives for the ceremony with her sisters, the bridesmaids.
There is so much happening in this one photo. The background captures the stunning setting and location of the outdoor wedding ceremony by the Cornish coast at the wonderful Cornish Wedding Venue, Polhawn Fort. Although I'm a wedding photographer based in the East of England, I cover wedding throughout the whole of the UK, as well as Europe and beyond and although you shouldn't have favourites, Cornwall is definitely up there.
The foreground captures the meticulously planned wedding decorations of the wedding bunting, but most importantly of all is the interactions between 4 family members.
The father of the bride is greeting his daughter, the Bride, with a kiss before they link arms to walk down the aisle to her waiting groom. Her sisters, the bridesmaids are looking on whilst holding her dress up to keep it clean and smiling very warmly at the interaction between their father and sister.
I think a moment like this tells a very important part of the wedding day story. Its a moment that the Bride will treasure and certainly share with existing family members as well as future generations. Its a also a wonderful moment that the groom will not have had the opportunity to witness, so when the couple view their wedding album together, he can really feel fully included in the whole wedding day story.
Capturing tender moments between family members on the wedding day is what I love most about my job. I feel like a super hero at a wedding with my power being the ability to freeze time for the couple to really indulge in the most important day of their lives. Too Cheesy?
